Why she rocks: She is a prominent figure in critical race theory, and has published works on civil rights, black feminist legal theory, race and racism, and the law. She is currently a professor at UCLA and Columbia Law School. She has spoken worldwide, addressing civil rights issues in Europe, Africa and South America. Her work on race and gender was influential in the drafting of the equality clause in the South African Constitution. She also co-founded the AAPF in 1996.
